Installation

Installing DiagMonitor
Requirement
• You have administrator rights.
• If an older version of the "SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor" or "SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor
DiagBase" software is installed on your PC, you need to completely uninstall it:
– Start "SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor" or "SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor DiagBase".
– Right-click on the "AlarmManager" icon.
– Select "Exit".
Procedure
1. Run the "Start.exe" file.
2. Select the setup language for installation of the software.
3. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Silent installation
You have the option of installing SIMATIC IPC DiagMonitor without displaying a window
during the installation process. In this case, you cannot make any input during the
installation.
1. Run the "DMInstManager.exe" file with the parameter "install silent typical" or "install silent
minimal".
SNMP service for DiagMonitor
The SNMP service is required for operating the DiagMonitor. Setup checks whether this
service is installed. If it finds that the service has not been installed, an error message will
appear and setup is canceled. In this case, install the SNMP service.

5
