Controlling Pressure

Pressing either the Control Ps or Control Qc function key places both channels of the ADTS into
the Control Mode. If it is desired to have only one channel in the control mode, press either the
Control Ps or Control Qc function key a second time and that channel will be switched back into
the measure mode. This will leave only one channel in the control mode. A pressure set point
should be entered into the ADTS prior to placing the unit into the control mode. This is to assure
that the operator is aware of the set point valve prior to entering into the control mode.

Setting the Pressure Set Point

The pressure set point is the destination of the pressure control algorithm. It should be set before
entering Control mode. The pressure set point is set to zero at power-up or whenever a pressure
error occurs.
1. The pressure set point can be set from the dual display menu or the Main Menu of the single
channel mode. (On the dual channel display mode, use the rotary knob to select which
channels set point is being edited.)
2. Use the numeric keypad to enter the new pressure set point in the current pressure units.
3. Press ENTER to accept the entry or press CLEAR to clear the numeric scratchpad.
The set point can also be changed using either the Step or the Jog function.
Please see Chapter 4, Step/Jog.

Entering/Exiting Control Mode

1. The Control mode is set from either the dual channel or the single channel display screens.
For the Dual channel, press PREVIOUS until the Main Menu appears. For the single channel,
press the MENU key and then press the MODE key to toggle between the two different
channels.
2. In the dual display mode, pressing either the Control Ps or Control Qc function key places
both channels of the ADTS into the Control Mode. If it is desired to have only one channel in
the control mode, press either the Control Ps or Control Qc function key a second time and
that channel will be switched back into the measure mode. This will leave only one channel
in the control mode. ENTER must be pressed to confirm entry into Control mode.
An entry in the numeric scratchpad will also be taken as the new pressure set point.
From the single display screen, press the Ps Control [F2] (or Qc Control
depending on which channel is operating) to place the selected channel in control
mode. ENTER must be pressed to confirm entry into Control mode.
3. Press MEASURE key found in the keypad to exit Control mode. No confirmation is
necessary. This will place both channels in the measure mode.
In the dual display mode, if both channels are in control mode, pressing either
[F1] or [F4] keys will place only the selected channel into measure mode.

Vent

The Vent [F3] function is used to control pressure in the selected channel to atmosphere. Once at
atmospheric pressure, the ADTS physically vents the test port to atmosphere.
