If the safety-interlock switches are

Understanding the
Safety-Interlock System
The safety-interlock system is designed to prevent the
engine from starting unless the following occurs:
The parking brake is engaged.
The blade-control switch (PTO) is disengaged.
The motion-control levers are in the N
position.
The safety-interlock system also is designed to shut
off the engine when the motion-control levers are
moved from the N

parking brake engaged or if you rise from the seat
when the PTO is engaged.
The hour meter has indicators to notify the user when
the interlock component is in the correct position.
When the component is in the correct position, an
indicator displays on the screen.
