STEERING / SUSPENSION
10. To ease the removal of the EPS unit, remove the (2)
coolant bottle screws from the lower RH tube frame
and move coolant bottle aside.
11. Remove the (4) screws that retain the EPS mount to
the EPS unit.
IMPORTANT
Before you disengage the lower steering post from the
EPS unit, add a mark on the lower power steering shaft.
This mark should align with the opening in the lower
steering post.
12. Remove the (4) fasteners that retain the steering
support brackets to the EPS mount.
13. Carefully lift the EPS unit up from the lower steering
post and remove the EPS unit from the vehicle.

EPS UNIT INSTALLATION

1. Install the (4) screws that retain the EPS mount to the
EPS unit and torque to specification.
TORQUE
EPS Mount Fasteners
30 ft-lbs (41 N·m)

2. Install the (2) carriage bolts that retain the lower
steering post to the steering post mount and loosely
tighten by hand.
3. Install the EPS unit into the vehicle by aligning the
mark on the lower power steering shaft with the
opening in the lower steering post.
IMPORTANT
If the marks made during removal do not line up, the
handlebars will not align with the wheels.
NOTICE
Apply anti-seize to the shaft spline to aid assembly.
