7.8 Installing a Parallel Port

This section explains how to install an extension parallel port (option).

7.8.1 Parallel Port Installation Position

The parallel port option is installed in PCI Slot 5 (standard).

7.8.2 Available parallel port

The following types of parallel port option can be extended on the server.
Parallel Port Option
• Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and unplug the power cables from
the outlet. Failure to do so may cause electric shock ( "1.4.3 Turning Off the
Server" (pg.33)).
• The circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed. They
can be damaged by static electricity.
Before handling them, first touch a metal part of the server to discharge static
electricity.
• Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold the metallic parts
or the edges of the circuit boards.
