Chapter 7 Installing Internal Options
■ How to Remove the Power Supply Unit

Turn the server off.
"1.4.3 Turning Off the Server" (pg.33)

Disconnect the power cable from the inlet.

While pressing the lever, remove the power supply unit.
Hold the handle on the power supply unit and pull the unit towards you. While pulling the unit
out, support it with the other hand.

7.9.4 Replacing the Power Supply Unit when the
Redundant Function is Enabled
When the redundant function of the system power is enabled, if one power supply unit causes a failure,
the green LED of the faulty power supply unit goes off. The faulty power supply unit can be replaced
without turning off the server.
After removing the power supply unit, be sure to attach a new power supply unit.

Disconnect the power cable from the inlet of the faulty power supply unit.

Remove the faulty power supply unit, by reverse step 3 in "7.9.3 How to Install
the Power Supply Unit" ( pg.213).

Attach a new power supply unit.

Connect the power cable to the inlet of the replaced power supply unit.

When it is difficult to remove the power supply unit, do not forcibly pull it out. Fully press the
power supply unit to the back of the server once and pull it out with the lever lowered com-
pletely.
