Basic Setup

Various settings for this unit can be made by using the
SETUP menu in the display window.
SETUP menu items and default settings
The following are basic setup items and their factory
settings.

Setup modes
Basic operation modes of this unit to be set up using
the SETUP menu are as follows:
Loop ID request
Select "Hardware assigned loop ID request" mode.
ON: To request the value set for "Loop ID" as the
Hardware assigned loop ID
FAST: Not to request the Hardware assigned loop
ID
Unload mode
Select the method for tape unloading.
NORM: To unload in Normal mode
FAST: To unload in Fast mode
Fast unload location
NORM: Normal mode, where the position to write
the DIT (Directory Information Table) is
determined according to the selection logic
shown below.
TOP: Fast mode where the DIT is always written
at the tape top

Selection logic in Normal mode
Is there an area in the middle to write DIT?

Auto load mode
Specify whether or not to automatically load the tape
when you insert it.
ON: To load automatically (Auto Load mode)
OFF: Not to load automatically (Manual Load
mode)
Auto format mode
Specify whether or not to automatically format an
unformatted cassette.
ON: To format automatically
OFF: To execute formatting manually
On-the-halfway mode
On a tape that has been formatted with this mode ON,
an area in which to write the DIT is created in the
middle of the tape when the used area exceeds 50%.
ON: To create an area in which to write the DIT in
the middle of the tape
OFF: Not to create an area in which to write the
DIT in the middle of the tape
Compression mode
Specify the mode of compression for data recording.
SCSI: To turn on/off the compression by an SCSI
command
ON: To compress the data in recording
OFF: Not to compress the data in recording
File mark flush mode
Select whether or not to write data left unwritten in
buffer memory to a tape each time the WRITE FILE
MARK command is issued.
ON: To write unwritten data to a tape
OFF: Not to write unwritten data to a tape
