Operations
Notes
• Be sure to retain the tape position once a cassette is
ejected. NEVER rewind or move forward the tape.
• If the host computer sends a PREVENT ALLOW
MEDIUM REMOVAL command with the
PREVENT bit set to 1, the UNLOAD button is
deactivated. In this condition, the LOCK lamp is lit
and no operation is performed even when you press
the UNLOAD button. To cancel this condition, set
the PREVENT bit of the PREVENT ALLOW
MEDIUM REMOVAL command to 0 and send the
command to the GY-8240FC.
Emergency eject
If the cassette cannot be ejected, insert a slender rod
through the EJECT hole inside the front panel and
push. The cassette will be ejected.
A cassette ejected by the above method has not been
unloaded correctly. So it must be recovered when
loaded into the unit next time.
For details on recovery, see "Recovery
Write protection
The rear of the DTF-2 cassette is as shown below.
When the red tab is pushed in toward the front of the
cassette from the back, writing will be inhibited. The
red tab is on the left on an L-size cassette, and on the
right on an S-size cassette.
When the tab is pulled out to its original position,
writing will be enabled.
At the factory, the red tab is set to the pulled-out
(write-enabled) position.

display window.
In the formatting process, the VSIT (Volume Set
