TROUBLESHOOTING
ENGINE SPEED DOES NOT INCREASE OR
STABILIZE
Check the air cleaner element (page 3-6).
Clean
Check the spark plug (page 3-9).
Normal
Check the main jet for blockage (page 6-11).
Clear
Check for secondary air leak.
No air leaking
Check the valve clearance (page 3-13).
Normal
Check the cylinder compression (page 13-5).
Normal
Check the governor system is installed correctly
(page 7-2, 7-3, 7-4).
Normal
Check the ignition coil air gap (page 9-5).
Normal
Check the ignition coil (page 9-6).
Replace the ignition coil if abnormalities are
found, and recheck.

Clean the air cleaner element (page 3-8).
Inspect the spark plug and adjust the spark

Disassemble and clean the carburetor

Check for worn piston, piston rings, or
cylinder inner surface (page 14-6, 14-12).

Adjust or replace the faulty part(s).
