Picture Advance

The picture advance speed determines how quickly the echoes are displayed on-
screen. When setting a picture advance speed, keep in mind that a fast advance
speed will expand echoes horizontally on the screen and a slow advance speed will
contract them. A fast advance speed is useful for observing a rugged seabed closely.
A slow advance speed is useful for observing a smooth seabed.
Note: When the ACCU-FISH
slowed.
Neither the picture nor the depth
indication is refreshed while the picture
is stopped. Use of depth data for
navigation in this case could lead to
grounding or other dangerous situation.
1.6.1 Picture advance for FCV-38 and external echo sounders where
"External Fish Finder Window" is set to "Off" at installation
Where [External Fish Finder Window] is set to [Off] at installation, the picture advance
setting is applied to both the FCV-38 and the external fish finder.
1. If the header is not displayed, put the cursor at the top edge of the display to show
it.
2. Click the [ADVANCE] indication on the header. The indication is now highlighted
in a green color.
3. Scroll to select the appropriate advance speed. The table below lists each speed
with a description.
