Connecting and Configuring WLC100 Wireless LAN Controllers (CLI Procedure)

There are two ways to connect and configure WLC100 controllers—one method is through
the console by using the command-line interface (CLI) and the other is by using the
WebView interface.
This topic describes the CLI procedure.
Before you begin connecting and configuring a controller through the console by using
the CLI, set the following parameter values in the console server or PC:
Port—COM1
Baud rate—9600
Flow control—None
Data bits—8
Parity—None
Stop bits—1
To connect and configure the controller through the console by using the CLI:
Connect the RJ-45 console port on the front panel of the controller to a laptop or PC

by using a combination of the RJ-45 to DB-9 female adapter. If your PC or laptop does
not have a DB-9 male connector pin and you want to connect your laptop or PC directly
to the controller, use a combination of the RJ-45 to DB-9 female adapter and a USB
to DB-9 male adapter.
NOTE:
You can also use the Mini-USB Type-B console port on the front
panel of the controller to connect the controller to a laptop or PC by using
the Mini-USB to PC-USB cable. However, we recommend that you connect
the controller to a management device by using the RJ-45 console port
because console messages are not displayed if you connect the controller
to a management device by using the mini-USB console port.
At the username prompt, press Enter.

At the password prompt, press Enter.

At the command prompt, type enable and press Enter.

The configuration mode is enabled and the command prompt changes from
