Installation

Before commencing installation, ensure that the following accessory parts are available:

Interface cable S
n
Manual for the protection device,
n
Optical fibre cable fitted with ST–connectors at both ends,
n
Connection of the communication network,
n
This quick reference.
Before installing the CC–S
q
The CC–S
is clamped onto a standard mounting rail (DIN EN 50022; 35 × 7.5).

Attach solid, low–resistance protective ground and operational earth on the rear panel of
the device by means of a M4 screw. The cross–section of the cable must be greater than
or equal to the cross–sectional area of any other control conductor connected to the
device. Furthermore, the cross–section of the ground wire must be at least 2.5 mm
(AWG 13).

Connection of the S

With a screwdriver, connect the two core pair ends to the connection S
CC–S
. Connect the remaining conductor (shield) to terminal "S" of the connection.

It is essential to ensure that the wiring between the interfaces is correct.

A shielded cable is recommended (see also signal connection)

Connect the transmission line of your protection device (fibre optic) to the reception
connection of the CC–S
protection device (fibre optic), to the transmission connection of the CC–S

With a screwdriver, connect the cables of the auxiliary voltage at your disposal to the
CC–S
. Ensure that the cable is fitted correctly.

The alarm relay (DR) contact can be connected as a NO contact or as a NC contact. The
NO contact is normally appropriate, so that the contact opens if the auxiliary voltage fails.
