• If an external GPS device is connected to the data terminal, the time display on
the GPS screen appears as shown below.

• The GPS function in this transceiver uses data in $GPRMC in NMEA-0183
format and $GPGGA data.
In order to use an external GPS device, the device must be able to output data
of this type.
• When using an external GPS device, setting the Set mode option [APRS] →
[20 GPS POWER] to OFF will deactivate the internal GPS function and reduce
battery consumption.
