to 72 lbs (120 lbs x .60) and the other meter to 48
lbs (120 lbs x .40).
When decreasing the meter setting, close the
shutoff slide and turn the meter, if necessary. This
procedure will empty the meter and let the plate
move to a smaller setting.

3.9.2 Changing metering rolls - ground drive system

Procedure
Close the meter gate or make sure the bin is empty.
1.
Remove the meter door.
2.
Remove the chain (1) from the meter drive
3.
sprocket.
Do not remove the sprocket.
On the sprocket end of the meter drive only,
4.
remove the two nuts (2) that hold the bearing
to the meter shaft.
Pull the shaft (3) out of the meter drive while
5.
holding on the the metering roll (4).
Remove the metering roll.
6.
Install the desired metering roll.
7.
Install the shaft into the meter drive through

the metering roll.
Install the two nuts that hold the bearing to

the meter shaft.
Install the chain to the meter drive sprocket.

Install the meter door.

3.9.3 Changing metering rolls - hydraulic system

Procedure
Close the meter gate or make sure the bin is empty.
1.
Remove the meter door.
2.
Remove the two 1/2 inch bolts (1) fastening
3.
the hydraulic motor to the motor mount.
On the motor end of the meter drive only,
4.
remove the two nuts (2) that hold the bearing
to the meter shaft.
Pull the shaft (3) connected to the hydraulic
5.
motor out of the meter drive while holding
on the the metering roll (4).
Remove the metering roll.
6.
Install the desired metering roll.
7.
Install the shaft connected to the hydraulic
8.
motor into the meter drive through the
metering roll.
Install the two nuts that hold the bearing to
9.
the meter shaft.
Install the two 1/2 inch bolts fastening the
10.
hydraulic motor to the motor mount.
