Tighten nut 3 of circlip 4.
Clamp on muffler and
exhaust manifold

16 lb/ft (22 Nm)
Install screw 2 of cover 1.
with HP sports muffler
ATTENTION
Tightening of screwed con-
nections with incorrect tight-
ening torque
Damage or loosening of screwed
connections
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a spe-
cialized workshop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Push the circlip onto the si-
lencer.
OE
Push silencer 1 up to the stop.
Install screw 2 and shim 3.
Muffler on rear frame
14 lb/ft (19 Nm)
Tighten nut 1 of circlip 2.
Clamp on muffler and
exhaust manifold
16 lb/ft (22 Nm)

Replacing front and
rear turn indicator light
sources
Park motorcycle, ensuring that
support surface is firm and
level.
Switch off ignition.
