• When the PB is set, AFE (IC2) of the modem outputs the PB signal. When DP is set, PDL port of the
CPU (IC15) controls the RL3 and outputs the dialing pulses.
2. Operation when calling from the extension phone
• When the extension phone goes off hook, the CPU (IC15) detects the loop detection signal and the
extension phone is connected to the circuit while the use of the circuit by the extension phone is dis-
played on the LCD of the panel. The call transmission from the handset and slave handset will then be
limited (call control). When this is done, it is possible to transmit a call by dialing from the extension
phone.
Operation when receiving calls
• when power is OFF
When power is OFF, the circuit is connected to the extension telephone. It is possible to receive calls with
the extension telephone, only when the extension telephone is connected.
• when power is ON
It is possible to receive calls by operation on the handset and slave handset. Also, when the extension
phone is connected, it is possible to receive calls by operation on the extension phone. When the call sig-
nal is received, it is detected by the ringer detection circuit PC3 (Ring Signal) and the phone bell is rang
from the speaker.
1. Operation when manual call receiving is set
• This setting is for the priority mode for manual call receiving and voice communication operation.
After the phone bell is rang, and after voice communication, facsimile-receiving operation is started
when the start button is pressed.
2. Operation when the facsimile/telephone automatic receiving is set
• In this setting, when calling signal is detected, CML is automatically turned ON for connecting the
circuit and, when CNG signal is detected, facsimile reception will begin.
• After the circuit is connected and when CHG signal is not detected, the call is considered to be tele-
phone and the bell is rang from the speaker.
• After automatic reception (circuit connection) the CML relay is controlled to the b-side and call
receiving is not possible with the extension phone.
• The number of ringings before staring the automatic reception can be set. It is possible to receive
the call with the extension phone until automatic receiving is started.
