ADF Roller (3006)
The ADF Roller feeds documents page by page into the scanning area from the ADF Tray.
Separation Rubber (1025)
The Separation Rubber separates documents placed on the ADF Tray and prevents multiple feeding.
Transmission Driving System
The Transmission Driving System feeds in the documents through the transmitting mechanism. It consists
of Transmit Motor, the Feed Roller, the Eject Roller, and gears.
Transmit Motor (3007)
Transmit Motor, controlled by the CPU, drives the Scanning Roller according to the density of the picture
information.
Feed Roller (3003)
The Feed Roller feeds the documents.
Sensors in Transmission Mechanism Block
ADF Sensor (1019)
The ADF Sensor detects the presence of document on the ADF Tray.
Scanning Point Sensor (1024)
The Scanning Point Sensor detects a document jam, and the start and the end of scanning.
The Contact Image Sensor (CIS)
The Contact Image Sensor consists of LED Lamp, Lens Array, Sensor IC, Amplifier for analog picture sig-
nal. To ensure a uniform contact with the document surface, the Contact Image Sensor is pressed against
the document with two plate springs.
