(1) SUBNET MASK

Function
• This function is used to specify the subnet mask value for the network.
NOTE
Use
• Please consult customer's network administrator for information about the sub-
net mask to use.
• Setting LAN connect to WAN the net mask address.
Setting/
NOTE
• If Auto is selected for [IP ADDR. SETTING], the items of [SUBNET MASK] and
procedure
[GATEWAY] are automatically set. Key entry is therefore disabled for [SUBNET
MASK] and [GATEWAY].

(2) GATEWAY

Function
• This function is used to specify the default gateway (IP address) of a router on the net-
work.
NOTE
Use
• Please consult customer's network administrator for information about the gate-
way to use.
• Setting LAN address.
Setting/
NOTE
• If Auto is selected for [IP ADDR. SETTING], the items of [SUBNET MASK] and
procedure
[GATEWAY] are automatically set. Key entry is therefore disabled for [SUBNET
MASK] and [GATEWAY].
C. DNS CONFIG.
Function
• Sets whether or not the DNS server setting is to be specified.
• If specifying the DNS server setting, the SMTP server can be specified as a host name
when using network scanning.
Use
• If [ENABLE] is selected, type in the IP address of the DNS server.
• If [DISABLE] is selected, the DNS server cannot be referenced.
• The default setting is DISABLE.

Function
• Sets the DNS server address (up to three addresses).
Use
• The default setting is 0.0.0.0.
