Security Lock

The printer has a slot for a cable-type security lock.
This slot is located on the side of the print unit,
behind the security enclosure.
If you plan to use a cable lock, select a location that
provides a secure place to fasten the cable.

Network Connection

You must be able to connect the back of the printer to your network using an Ethernet cable.
Make sure that the installation location has an available network port for the printer.
The workstations for printer users must have access to the printer over the network and must
have network permission to the printer.

Network Security Requirements

The CR500 printer requires use of the HTTPS protocol and does not recognize unsecured
communications. If you are asked to specify a port, use port 9111 with browser access to Printer
Manager. Refer to
options in Printer Manager.
The CR500 printer provides encryption using HTTPS. The printer and CardWizard issuance
software are designed to use this level of security.
This manual assumes that the HTTPS protocol provides adequate security for your site. If your
organization requires additional security, you are responsible for setup and for procedures
documenting its use.
