CONFIGURATION FOR THE USE OF THE CLAMSHELL BUCKET
6.9.2 INSTALLING THE CLAMSHELL
BUCKET
The machine must be parked on a level surface, with the
q
front equipment resting on the ground.
When the coupling pins are removed or installed, chips
q
may come off; always use gloves, goggles and helmet.
The change of the equipment must be carried out by two
q
operators, who must decide together the words and
signals to be used during work.
Avoid using your fingers to align the holes, since they may
q
be injured or even cut off.
Completely release the residual pressure that may be
q
present in the pipes.
To install the revolving clamshell bucket, proceed as follows:
1 - Remove the standard bucket from the backhoe (see
"3.13.4.1 CHANGING THE BACKHOE BUCKET").
2 - Retract the bucket control piston completely.
3 - Connect the clamshell bucket to the arm.
4 - Stop the machine and move the controls in all directions to
release the residual pressure.
IMPORTANT
If the machine is equipped with backhoe servo controls, to
q
eliminate the residual pressure proceed as follows:
1 - With the engine at rest, turn the ignition key to position

2 - Press the servo control locking button and make sure
that the LED is off (release position) (see "3.3.2 pos. 12
- SERVO CONTROL LOCKING BUTTON").
3 - Shift the backhoe control levers more than once and
press the clamshell bucket swing buttons.
4 - Turn the ignition key to position « ».
5 - Mechanically lock the standard bucket thrust lever, in such a
way as to lock the piston at the end of stroke.
