USING THE MACHINE AS AN EXCAVATOR

3.13.4.1 CHANGING THE BACKHOE BUCKET

When the coupling pins are removed or installed, chips
q
may come off; always use gloves, goggles and helmet.
The change of the equipment must be carried out by two
q
operators, who must decide together the words and
signals to be used during work.
Avoid using your fingers to align the holes, since the may
q
be injured or even cut off.
The described procedures are valid also for the coupling of
q
the mechanical connections of the optional equipment.
1 - Position the bucket on level ground, directing it so that the flat
part of the bucket back rests on the ground.
2 - Remove first the tie-rod pin (1) and then the arm connection
pin (2).
3 - Change the bucket, taking care to clean the pins and
bushings perfectly and to grease the pins slightly before
reinstalling them.
IMPORTANT
Install the arm connection pin first.

4 - Put back the safety retainers (3) of the pins.
5 - Lubricate the pins by means of the special grease nipple (see
"4.5.1 LUBRICATION DIAGRAM").
