CAUTION:
Heatsinks specified for processor 1 and 2 are not interchangeable. Be sure to note the
appropriate orientation on the heatsink label.
CAUTION:
Heatsink retaining screws should be tightened or loosened in diagonally opposite pairs (in an
"X" pattern). Do not overtighten the screws as this can damage the board, connectors, or
screws.
6.
Install the heatsink:
a. Position the heatsink on the processor backplate.
b. Tighten one pair of diagonally opposite screws halfway, and then tighten the other pair of screws.
c. Finish the installation by completely tightening the screws in the same sequence.
7.
Install the air baffle.
8.
If the 4:1 riser cable signal or Smart Storage Battery are installed in the air baffle, reconnect the
cable to the risers. For more information, see "Cabling (Cabling, Storage cabling)".
9.
Install the access panel.
10. Install the server into the chassis.
11. Connect all peripheral cables to the server .
12. Power up the server .

Expansion board

Expansion boards supported with this server include any board installed in the PCIe riser modules,
including controllers, NIC cards, and GPU accelerators.
