Set the I/O Communication Area Setting Table on the Edit Special Unit Settings Tab Page.

Establish communications with the NJ-series Controller and go online. Download the
CPU/Expansion Rack configuration and settings for the EtherCAT Slave Unit. Use the synchro-
nization operation of the Sysmac Studio to download the data.
Clear the selection of the following (all items are not transferred).
• CJ-series Special Unit parameters and EtherCAT slave backup parameters.
• Slave Terminal Unit operation settings and NX Unit application data.
After downloading the settings, the EtherCAT Slave Unit will automatically restart to enable the
settings.

Check the indicators on the EtherCAT Slave Unit.
If the RUN indicator is lit while the ERC and ERH indicators are not lit, it indicates that the Ether-
CAT Slave Unit has recognized the new I/O communication area settings. Refer to Setting
Results Codes on page 3-23.
