Configuring the switchover to SPT
CAUTION:
If the device is an RP, disabling the switchover to SPT might cause multicast traffic forwarding
failures on the source-side DR. When disabling the switchover to SPT, make sure you fully
understand its impact on your network.
To configure the switchover to SPT:

Configuring BIDIR-PIM
This section describes how to configure BIDIR-PIM.
Configuration restrictions and guidelines
When you configure BIDIR-PIM, follow these restrictions and guidelines:
•
BIDIR-PIM does not support multicast forwarding over a GRE tunnel.
•
BIDIR-PIM is not supported on Layer 3 Ethernet interfaces or Layer 3 aggregate groups. To
ensure correct multicast forwarding in a BIDIR-PIM domain, do not use Layer 3 Ethernet
interfaces or Layer 3 aggregate interfaces as multicast forwarding interfaces. For more
information about Layer 3 Ethernet interfaces and Layer 3 aggregate groups, see Interface
Configuration Guide and Layer 2—LAN Switching Configuration Guide, respectively.
