CAUTION!

– Use proper lifting techniques.

Risk of injuries caused by uncontrolled movement
of mobility device.
– Switch off power supply (ON/OFF key).
– Engage drive.
– Before raising mobility device, secure wheels by
blocking them with wedges.

Removing spring elements
1. Remove drive wheel as described in 6.7.2 Replacing
drive wheel, page 34.

Remove cable on motor: Loosen screws on cover
cap. Loosen and remove terminal ends. Remove plug
connection.

Loosen and remove screw (4). Pull motor rockers (3)
away from chassis until spring element comprising
compression spring and elastomer spring (1) can be
removed. When doing so, lift rockers so that impact
rubber is not loaded. This prevents damage.
4. Replace springs element (1).
Installing spring elements
1. Install parts in reverse order.
2. Grease rockers bearing bolts and replace motor rockers
(3).
3. Replace spring elements (1) and push rockers further on.
4. Place spring on top, lift rockers and push them further
on until impact rubber is contacting stop.
5. Retighten rockers.
6. Reconnect motor cable with motor. Note torques.
7. When refitting cable cover and tension relief, make sure
that they are seated correctly. The union is eccentric,
narrow side is facing inwards.
8. Install drive wheel as described in 6.7.2 Replacing drive
wheel, page 34.
9. Test all functions.

Invacare always recommends you replace both
suspension struts to make sure perfect mobility
device operation. Springs in wheel suspension can be
selected in two weight classes depending on weight
of user. Different weight classes are labelled using
colored dots on spring.

Removing suspension strut
1. Lift mobility device onto several wooden blocks. Use
proper lifting techniques.
2. Remove securing clip (3).
3. Remove spacer (2).
4. Carefully remove bolts (5) which connect shock absorber
(4) to swing arm (1).
5. Repeat procedure for rear bolts.
6. Remove suspension strut.
Installing suspension strut
1. Install parts in reverse order.
2. Always make sure the suspension strut has been located
correctly. Spring plates for setting spring preload must
be at rear. Lever for setting shock absorption must be
at top.
3. Test all functions.
