INSPECTION
To prevent
damaging the
iridium
center
electrode
, use
a
wire type feeler
gauge
to check
the
spark plug gap
.
Check the spark plug gap
between the center and side
electrodes with a wire type feeler gauge [ 1 ]

Make sure that the

not insert between the gap

Do not adjust the
If the gauge can be inserted into the gap

replace the
sparkplug
gap

Inspection and adjustment of the valve clearance can be serviced with the engine installed in the frame .
Remove the cylinder head cover ( page 10

Remove the timing hole cap and crankshaft hole cap

Remove the camshaft maintenance cap [ 1 ] and O

Rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise and align the

mark [ 1 ] on the flywheel with the index notch [ 2 ] on
the alternator cover

Make sure that the

aligned with the lower cylinder head index line [ 4 ]

If the

mark is facing upper cylinder head index line
[ 5 ]
,
turn
the crankshaft counterclockwise one full turn
( 360 ° ) and realign the
" 1 T " mark with
the
index notch
.
