MODE/ SHIFT INDICATOR CIRCUIT
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the mode indicator does not operate
,
check that the
combination
meter shows following
when the ignition
switch is turned ON with the engine stop switch

"
.

MIL [ 1 ] and engine oil pressure indicator [
2 ] stay on
.

Shift i n d i c a t o r
[ 3 ] is blinking
.

Tachometer and high coolant temperature indicator
do not come on
.
If so ,
check
the serial
communication line (
page 22

If not so , replace the combination meter
.

AT / MT MODE SWITCH
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the engine can be started but AT / MT mode cannot be
changed , perform
this troubleshooting
.
NOTE :
Before starting
the inspection
, check for loose or
poor contact on the right handlebar switch and PCM

P connectors , and recheck the AT / MT mode
switch operation .
•
If the PCM is replaced , perform the Clutch Initialize
Learning Procedure ( page 12

Inspection
Disconnect the right handlebar switch 6 P ( Black )
connector ( page 22

Turn the ignition switch ON with the engine stop
switch " O

Measure the voltage between the wire harness side
right handlebar switch 6 P ( Black ) connector [ 1 ]
terminal and ground .
Connection :

Is there battery voltage

YES

GO TO STEP 2

NO

Open
circuit in the Black
/ white wire
between
the
right
handlebar
switch
connector
and
fuse box
( FI fuse )

continuity between the switch side right
handlebar switch
