CRANKCASE

CHECKING THE OIL DELIVERY PIPE

1. Check:
S oil delivery pipe 1
Damage ! Replace.
Obstruction ! Wash and blow out with com-
pressed air.
S O-rings 2
S Damage/wear ! Replace.

CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL PUMP DRIVE

1. Check:
S oil pump drive gear 1
S oil pump drive gear 2
Chips/pitting/roughness/wear ! Replace
the defective part(-s).

ASSEMBLING THE CRANKCASE

1. Apply:
S sealant
(onto the crankcase mating surfaces)
Yamaha bond No.1215
90890-85505
NOTE:
Do not allow any sealant to come into contact
with the oil gallery.
2. Install:
S dowel pins 1
S joint pipe 2
3. Install:
S left crankcase
(onto the right crankcase)
NOTE:
S Turn the shift drum segment 1 to the position
shown in the illustration. In this position, the
shift drum segment's teeth will not contact the
crankcase during crankcase installation.
S Tap lightly on the left crankcase with a soft-
face hammer.
