Installation and control panel wiring (B308)

Ensure that there is enough power for the module and other powered devices you want
connected to the system.
Refer to On-board outputs, page 66.
Caution!
Remove all power (AC and battery) before making any connections. Failure to do so might
!
result in personal injury and/or equipment damage.

Wire to the control panel
When you wire an SDI2 module to a control panel, you can use either the terminal strip
labeled with PWR, A, B, and COM to wire to corresponding terminals labeled 27 through 30
(or 23 through 26 if configured for SDI2) on the control panel, or you can use the interconnect
wiring connector and the included interconnect cable.
For terminal wiring, use 18 AWG to 22 AWG (1.02 mm to 0.65 mm) wire.
Notice!
Use either the terminal strip wiring or interconnect wiring to the control panel. Do not use
both. When connecting multiple modules, you can combine terminal strip and interconnect
wiring connectors in series.

B600 Retrofit ZONEX Module

The B600 Retrofit (ZONEX) module enables the use of ZONEX devices on the B9512G/B8512G
control panel. The B600 module connects to the control panel through a proprietary
connection (cable provided with module).
The control panel supports one B600 module.
11.2.1

D8129 Octo-relay Module

The D8129 Octo-relay Module is an eight relay output expansion device that connects to
control panel using the B600.
You can assign alarm output, auxiliary relay, sensor reset, arming status, point status, alarm
memory, or remote functions to the outputs individually. Refer to Output Parameters in RPS
Help or in the control panel Program Entry Guide for programming details.
D8129 Restricted for Fire Systems
D8129 relay outputs are not supervised and cannot be used in fire or combined fire and
burglary installations for primary indicating devices. For supervised relay outputs use the B308
Octo-output Module.
Address settings
Five switches on the module determine the eight relay output numbers. Set the address
before installing the module. For more information, refer to D8129 address settings, page 170.

Set the module address using the address switches before you install it in the enclosure.
Install the module in the enclosure with the control panel or in an adjacent enclosure that
is within the distances rated for the module: 400 ft (137 m) with 22 AWG (0.65 mm) wire
or 1000 ft (305 m) with 18 AWG (1.02 mm) wire.
Use the screws provided with the module to secure the module in the enclosure.
