The Blu-ray menus offer options
for settings and adjustments.
Here you find detailed
information about the individual
menus.
For an overview of the Blu-ray
menu structure, see page 4.
The Blu-ray player only supports
playback of 12 cm discs.

Settings and preferences for the Blu-ray player

Bring up the SETUP menu
> Press DVD Setup to bring up the DVD
SETUP menu. (Beo4: Press LIST and use
the navigation button up or down to bring
up SHIFT then press 8).
What's on the PLAYBACK STATUS
menu ...
STANDARD ... Playback status and stop
status will be displayed.
EXTENDED ... Playback status, stop status
and automatic status, such as
BONUSVIEW and angle, will be displayed.
What's on the AUDIO FORMAT menu ...
STANDARD ... Decode all audio formats to
PCM for up to 7.1 (seven sound channels
and one channel for low-frequency sound).
STANDARD audio format is recommended
to be able to play all sound tracks.
RE-ENCODE ... Decode all audio formats to
DTS for up to 5.1 (five sound channels and
one channel for low-frequency sound).
BITSTREAM ... All audio formats are sent in
its original format for up to 7.1 (seven
sound channels and one channel for low-
frequency sound). If this option is selected,
sound for Picture in Picture and effect
sound for Blu-ray disc menus are not
available.
What's on the LANGUAGE menu ...
AUDIO ... Enter the menu and select the
preferred audio language to be used.
SUBTITLE ... Enter the menu and select the
preferred subtitle language to be used*.
DISC MENU ... Enter the menu and select
the language to be used in disc menus.
MENU ... Enter the menu and select the
language to be used in the menus.

What's on the ACCESS CONTROL menu ...
When you enter the ACCESS CONTROL
menu, you are asked to enter and confirm
your access code. The first time you enter
the menu, you are asked to select a new
access code.
PARENTAL LOCK ... Enable or disable the
Parental Lock function.
RATING ... Some discs feature a Parental
Lock level. If you specify a level lower than
the one contained on the disc, the disc
will not play unless your access code is
entered.
NEW ACCESS CODE ... Enter and confirm a
new access code at any time.
What's on the ADVANCED menu ...
MEMORY MANAGEMENT ... You can
format the memory.
NETWORK ... If you choose the
CONFIGURATION field to be MANUAL the
fields IP ADDRESS, SUBNET MASK,
GATEWAY and DNS become available.
The MAC ADDRESS field informs you of
the Mac address.
MODULE INFORMATION ... See information
about software version and regions.
SOFTWARE UPDATE ... If your television is
connected to the Internet, you can update
the Blu-ray player, provided that new
software is available. For further
information contact your retailer.
*Some discs will require you to choose a
subtitle language from a disc menu, even if
you have previously selected a default subtitle
language from the LANGUAGE menu.
