Configuring the ACLI banner

You can configure the banner that is presented when a user logs on to the switch through ACLI to a
user-defined value.
You can use the custom logon banner to display company information, such as company name and
contact information.
The banner cannot exceed 1539 bytes, or 19 rows by 80 columns plus line termination characters.
The banner control setting is saved to NVRAM, and both the banner file and control setting are
distributed to all units within a stack.

Follow this procedure to configure the ACLI banner.
Procedure
1. Enter Global Configuration mode:
enable
configure terminal
2. Configure the switch to use a custom banner or use the default banner:
banner {custom | static}
3. Create a custom banner:
banner <line_number> "<LINE>"
4. Save the configuration:
save config
