Suppressing Noise

Electrical noise, appearing on the screen as "speckles," may be suppressed with
the noise rejector as below. Note that there are some forms of interference which
cannot be suppressed.
1. Press the [MENU] key to show the main menu.
2. Select OTHER MENU and press the [ENTER] key.
3. Choose "7. Noise Reject" followed by On or Off as appropriate.
4. Press the [ENTER] key.
5. Press the [MENU] key to close the menu.
"NR" appears at the bottom right-hand corner when the noise rejection circuit is
on.

Suppressing Second-trace Echoes

In certain situations echoes from very distant targets may appear as false echoes
(second-trace echoes) on the screen. This occurs when the returning echo is
received one transmission cycle later, namely, after a next radar pulse has been
transmitted. You can suppress this type of echo as follows:
1. Press the [MENU] key to show the main menu.
2. Select OTHER MENU and press the [ENTER] key.
3. Choose "21. 2
[ENTER] key. "2
4. Press the [MENU] key to close the menu.

Brilliance of Characters, Markers

The brilliance of alphanumeric characters and markers can be adjusted as below.
The default brilliance setting is maximum (4).
1. Press the [MENU] key to show the main menu.
2. Select OTHER MENU and press the [ENTER] key.
3. Choose "2. Mark Brill," "3. HD Mark," or "4. Characters" as appropriate.
4. Select brilliance level desired (4 is the highest) and press the [ENTER] key.
5. Press the [MENU] key to close the menu.
