Printing Tests and Normal Cleaning

Before you carry out actual printing, perform a printing test to ensure no dot drop-out occurs. If dot drop-out
occurs, perform cleaning of the print heads (Normal Cleaning).
1.
Set test print orientation
Note: The factory default setting for test print orientation is "Portrait." When making continuous test prints, it
is possible to select print orientation of "Portrait" or "Landscape" from the second print onward. However, if
using the optional media take-up system, test prints will be printed in "Portrait" orientation regardless of the
print orientation setting.

Make a test print
Set the printing-start location.

When performing continuous test prints, there is no need to set the printing-start location from the
second print onward. However, the printing-start location will be restored to its default and it will be
necessary to reset it if any of the following operations are made between prints:
 Cutting a sheet
 Printing created data
 Setting the media free
