Editing library items on a computer (Browser Edit function)

The new feature "Browser Edit function" enables you to display music information
(song names, artist names, etc) and playlists stored in the library of your MucicCAST
server with a web browser on a computer, and effectively edit them only with input
devices (keyboard and mouse). For information on the library and how to edit library
items using the MusicCAST server's remote controller, refer to page 57 of the MCX-
1000 Owner's Manual.
Library items you can edit on a computer are as follows:
• Edit names (song, artist, album, genre, collection, playlist)
• Create/delete playlists
• Add/delete/move/copy/rearrange (change the playback order) playlist items

Recommended environments

We recommend the following environments to operate the Browser Edit function.

• Computer
Operating system: Windows XP
Monitor: 16-bit color or higher, 1024 x 768 pixels or higher
Other: LAN port
• Web browser
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (enable active script)

About the Editing library screen

With the Browser Edit function, you can display and edit your library items on the Edit-
ing library screen (Edit title and Edit playlist). The following lists describe the links and
buttons you use in the Editing library screen. Please note that the set of buttons dis-
played on the screen varies depending on the editing situation.

Description
Displays the Edit title screen.
Displays the Edit playlist screen.

Applies a new name to the selected item.
Clears the text entry field.
Displays items in a lower level.
Displays items in a higher level.
Displays additional items if there are more than 50 items.
Changes the playback order of the selected item within
the playlist.
Creates a new playlist.
Adds the selected item to the selected playlist.
Moves the selected item to the selected playlist.
Copies the selected item to the selected playlist.
Deletes the selected item from the selected playlist.
Logs off a computer when you have finished edit
operations.
Note
Be sure to use the buttons in the
Editing library screen to execute
operations. Using the Web
browser's buttons may not
execute edit operations properly.
Edit playlist screen
The Edit playlist screen consists
of two list boxes and buttons. If
two identical buttons ("Select",
"Cancel", etc.) are displayed in
the screen, use the buttons on
the left side of the screen to
operate the left list box and use
the right ones to operate the right
list box.
