Editing library items on a computer (Browser Edit function)
To connect the computer to the MusicCAST
server via a network
Follow the procedure below to prepare for using the Browser Edit function.
Connect the computer to the MusicCAST server
To log on to the MusicCAST server from the computer, you need to connect them
physically. We recommend you connect them via a router as shown below.
When using the router as a DHCP server
Set the MusicCAST server, MusicCAST clients, and the computer so that IP
addresses are obtained from the router automatically.

When using the MusicCAST server as a DHCP server
Set the MusicCAST clients so that the IP addresses are obtained from the
MusicCAST server automatically. Since a computer cannot obtain an IP address from
the MusicCAST server in this case, set it manually.

Network settings
To configure the MusicCAST
server network settings, refer to
page 108 of the MCX-1000
Owner's Manual. To configure the
MusicCAST client network
settings, refer to page 21 of the
MCX-A10 Owner's Manual. To
configure the computer network
settings, refer to the owner's
manual of your computer.
Memo
We recommend you note the
current computer network
settings (IP address, etc.) for
future use before configuring
them.
Example of network
settings
When using the default network
settings on the MusicCAST
server, you can configure the
computer network settings as
follows:
• IP address: 192.168.1.10
• Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
