BIOS 3.1 BIOS Introduction The Award BIOS (Basc Input/Output System) nstalled n your computer system’s. The BIOS provdes for a standard devce such as dsk drves, seral ports and parallel ports. It also adds password protecton as well as special support for detailed fine-tuning of the chipset controlling the entire system. -

BIOS 3.3 Standard CMOS Features “Standard CMOS Features” allows you to record some basc hardware configurations in your computer system and set the system clock and error handlng. If the CPU card s already nstalled n a workng system, you wll not need to select ths opton. - Page 30 BIOS IDE Primary HDDs / IDE Secondary HDDs The onboard PCI IDE connectors provde Prmary and Secondary channels for connectng up to four IDE hard dsks or other IDE devces. Each channel can support up to two hard disks; the first is the “Master” and the second s the “Slave”.
