Format/Online Indicator (Model 5I3)
The indicator functions as a Format indicator when the coaxial
attachment is active (see the below operating conditions for the
Format indicator) or as an Online indicator when the parallel or
serial attachment is active (see the above operating conditions for
the Online indicator).
On
The Cancel Print, PA1, and PA2 keys are available for
use (that is, you can press them in the printer's current
state).
Off
The PA1 and PA2 keys are not currently available. The
Cancel Print key is only available when running an
Operator Print Test.
The PA1 and PA2 keys are used to send special operator requests.

for more information on these keys.
Attention Indicator
The Attention indicator has two operating conditions:
Off
The printer has not detected any conditions requiring
operator intervention.
Blinking
The printer has detected a condition requiring immediate
operator intervention. The alarm also beeps (if not
disabled). If the printer also displays a status code, go to
"Using the Status Code and Problem Listings" on
page B-2.
