Use your index finger to slightly pull the tab outward and to the left.

Do not try to pull the entire bracket. The back of the tab has a latch
that releases when the tab is pulled slightly.
When you have released the right edge of the bracket, lift it until it is

perpendicular to the front of the retention module.
Pull the two tabs attached to the single edge contact (SEC) cartridge

(visible after you remove the bracket) straight up. As you do, the
cartridge disengages from the connector on the system board.
8. Slide the SEC cartridge straight away from the system board, out of
the retention module. Put it on a piece of conductive foam and store it
in an antistatic package.
9. Remove the replacement processor cartridge from its protective
wrapping.
Orient the SEC cartridge so that the heat sink faces away from the

center of the system board.
11. If you are installing a termination card assembly, orient it so that the
side with the label faces toward the center of the system board.
