Redirect state: in this state the console serves as a PC ANSI
terminal for BIOS console redirection. Commands typed in this
window are transmitted through BIOS to the server console, and
text displayed on the server console is displayed in the terminal
window. In this state, you can view boot messages, access BIOS
setup, and run DOS text mode applications remotely.
The illustration EMP Console in Redirect State on page 128 shows the
EMP console window in redirect state with the terminal window. The text
that appears on the server monitor is also displayed in the redirect window.
Availability of the various EMP console features is determined by two
things: the EMP access mode selected during configuration in the System
Management Submenu of the BIOS Server Menu (page 131) and whether
the server COM2 port is configured for console redirect in the BIOS.
