Appliance Setup

A. Remove the Shipping Materials
Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath the
fi rebox. Verify all components are with the fi replace.
B. Clean the Appliance
Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated
inside the fi rebox or underneath in the control cavity.
C. Accessories
Install approved accessories per instructions included
with accessories. Contact your dealer for a list of ap-
proved accessories.
WARNING! Risk of Fire and Electric Shock! Use ONLY
Hearth & Home Technologies-approved optional acces-
sories with this appliance. Using non-listed accessories
could result in a safety hazard and will void the warranty.
D. Glass or Stone Media
A glass or stone media kit is available for use with the
RED40-N-AU and RED40ST-N-AU models. Install glass
or stone media accordingly per additional instructions in-
cluded with appliance or with kit.

E. Porcelain Installation
CAUTION! Risk of Burns! The fi replace should be turned
off and cooled before refractory is installed.
CAUTION! Risk of Cuts or Abrasions. Wear protective
gloves and safety glasses during installation. Sheet metal
edges are sharp.
Note: Optional Porcelain or Granite Kits used with lighted
and non-lighted media models must be placed in appliance
before placing glass media in the appliance.
RED40 Model With Media or Media/Lights
This kit contains the components necessary to install
the porcelain on single sided model RED40 models that
have media or media/lights installed. For installation on
other models, refer to the instructions included with the
appropriate kit.
Kit Contents:
(1) Back Panel. See Figure 14.1
(2) Side Panels. See Figure 14.2
(2) Corner Panels. See Figure 14.3
(5) Angle tabs and (5) Sheet metal screws. See Figure 14.4
