Installing the scale smokestack

our caboose is equipped with an operational smokestack that was installed at the factory.
Use this smokestack when you operate the smoke generator. This stack was designed to
allow the smoke fluid to flow properly into the smoke generator and to properly vent the
smoke.
To give your caboose a more prototypical appearance, you may choose to install the scale
smokestack. Keep in mind that the smoke generator should be switched OFF before installing
the smaller, scale-sized stack.
Note!
The scale smokestack was not designed for use with the smoke generator.
1. Slide the SMOKE switch to the OFF position.
Refer to Figure 5 on page 5 for the location of the ON/OFF switch.
2. Remove the two wire braces attached to the smokestack. Refer to Figure 6.
Bay Window Caboose
Gently pull the wires away from the stack and pull them out of the roof.
Extended Vision Caboose
Gently pull the wires away from the stack and slide them out of the cupola.
3. Lift off the operating stack.
4. Press the scale smokestack into the hole that was molded into the roof.
Be sure that the molded "tooth" at the base of the stack matches the notch in the roof
opening.
5. Insert the long ends of the wire braces into the cupola or roof, and press
the short ends into the holes in the stack.
