Installing the O-gauge front coupler
A
n O-gauge coupler (non-operating)
is included with your locomotive for
those who may wish to "double-head"
their trains with a second Challenger
or another locomotive.
Simply turn the locomotive over onto
a padded surface and loosen the screw
that holds the front coupler. With a
small flat blade screw driver, replace
the scale coupler head with the 'O'
gauge coupler head and retighten the
screw. See Figure 13.

Installing the scale pilot truck

A
n O-gauge (scale) pilot truck is
included with your locomotive for
those who may wish to operate or display
the locomotive with more prototypical
flanges.
Simply turn the locomotive over onto
a padded surface and loosen the screw
that holds the front coupler. With a
small Philips screw driver, remove
the two screws that secure the pilot
truck assembly to the underside of the
locomotive. Refer to Figure 14.
Position the scale pilot truck and
replace the screws to secure it to the
locomotive. Ensure that the truck moves
without binding.
