8. Scroll to:
SELECT FUNCTION
FORMAT DISK
9. Press the Enter push button to select FORMAT DISK. The display reads:
FORMAT DISK?
NO
10. Scroll until YES is displayed on the second line and press the Enter push
button. The following message is displayed:
FORMAT METHOD
HIGH-LEVEL
11. Scroll until LOW-LEVEL is displayed on the second line and press the
Enter push button. The printer performs a low-level disk format while
displaying the FORMATTING... message.
12. After the low-level disk format is completed, the SELECT FUNCTION
menu is displayed again. The following message appears:
SELECT FUNCTION
FORMAT DISK
13. Press the Enter push button to again select FORMAT DISK.
The display reads:
FORMAT DISK?
NO
14. Scroll until YES is displayed on the second line and press the Enter push
button. This message appears:
FORMAT METHOD
HIGH-LEVEL
15. Press the Enter push button to select a high-level disk format. The printer
quickly performs a high-level disk format while displaying the
FORMATTING... message.
16. After the high-level disk format is completed, you are returned to the
SELECT FUNCTION menu. The following message is displayed:
SELECT FUNCTION
FORMAT DISK
17. Scroll until the display reads:
SELECT FUNCTION
INSTALL SOFTWARE
Press the Enter push button. The following message is displayed:
INSTALL SOFTWARE
NO
18. Scroll until YES is displayed on the second line and press the Enter push
button. Several messages are displayed:
SCANNING
DIRECTORIES...
then
INSTALLING...
A status bar shows the progress of the installation. When the installation is
done, PRESS ENTER TO RESTART SYSTEM is displayed.
19. Turn off the CD-ROM drive.
20. Press the Enter push button.
21. As the printer restarts, booting and scanning messages are displayed.
