Administrator's Guide
For a complete discussion of the different printer queues and how they
function, see the User's Guide . For specific instructions on configuring the
AIX server, see the documentation that came with the AIX operating system.
To review, the general steps involved in AIX configuration for the IBM
Network Color Printer include making sure that TCP/IP is installed and
configured correctly, installing end-user software, such as the PostScript
Level 2 Printer Driver and the printer description files, and configuring the PC
or workstation to submit jobs to the AIX queues using TCP/IP.
These tasks, along with printing, are documented in the IBM Network Color
Printer: User's Guide under the section covering the specific PC or
Workstation operating system.
While the Network Color Printer is receiving print jobs through TCP/IP,
Note:
it can also accept jobs in other supported enabled protocols such as
IPX/SPX and AppleTalk.
