1) Machine Screws
Remove the 2 machine screws on the
left and right side of the ignition switch
and remove the switch from its hous-
ing.
Installation Into Locking Housing

WARNING
Disconnect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals
before beginning this procedure to prevent electric
short circuit. Failure to do so could cause serious com-
ponent damage. Disconnect the ground terminal first.

Place switch into locking housing,
aligning slots on switch and housing
shaft. Holding switch in place, start
both screws before tightening (see il-
lustration in Removal procedure).
Torque to 1.7 ± 0.5 Nm (15 ± 4 in-lb).

Connect the ignition switch electrical
connector.

Pull steering column back and up,
where possible. Install front cover by
installing torx bolts. Torque to 5 ± 0.8
Nm (44 ± 7 in-lb).

Adjust the steering column forward
and up, where possible. Install the rear
cover of the steering column by in-
stalling torx bolts and attaching rubber
grommets at stalk switches. Torque
bolts to 5 ± 0.8 Nm (44 ± 7 in-lb).

Replace the 2 clips on the bottom of
the steering column cover.

Connect battery cables, positive side
first. Torque nuts to 20.3–24.4 Nm
(15–18 ft–lb).
