Environmental Friendliness
The ETERNUS DX is a green-certified product that satisfies Fujitsu's original strict environmental standards as
part of its global efforts to reduce the environmental burden.
The environmental burden is reduced by using a power saving design that allows reduced power consump-
tion.

Power Efficiency
The Eco-mode function, which is compatible with Massive Arrays of Idle Disks (MAID), manages the schedule
for drive operation times. Drive motors that are not scheduled to run are stopped or the drives are turned off
in order to reduce power consumption.

RoHS Compliance
The ETERNUS DX complies with RoHS, as mandated by the European Parliament and Council. RoHS limits the
use in electric and electronic equipment of six specific chemicals: lead, hexavalent chromium, mercury, cad-
mium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). In addition, lead-free
soldering is used for all printed-wiring boards.
