the company, or any other grouping that the administra-
tor requires. This improves response time and successful
diagnosing of printer problems for individuals. By estab-
lishing groups of printers, the system administrator can
copy the settings of the "leader" printer into a template
and use this template to quickly reconfigure any printer
in the group.
•Multi-settings: The system administrator can broadcast
settings to multiple printers simultaneously, shortening
the time required for installing and configuring existing
or new printers on the network.
•Client-Server Design: The client-server design of
PageScope saves time when installing PageScope. The
administrator installs it on only one host computer and
then enters the names and passwords of any other net-
work users who need access.
•Multi-platform Support: PageScope supports the most
popular computer operating systems. Because regis-
tered users access the PageScope host through their
web browser, any registered user on any network com-
puter system with a web browser can use PageScope.
•E-mail Notification: The system administrator can
establish e-mail addresses for PageScope to notify in the
event a problem occurs at the printer.
•Reach Beyond Firewall: If the system administrator is
ever in a remote location beyond the company firewall,
he or she can use e-mail to retrieve specific printer
status reports from the PageScope host.
•Custom Settings: Each registered user can configure
PageScope settings to his or her needs without affecting
the settings of others. Registered users can customize the
list of visible printers through groups, making manage-
ment of large numbers of network printers easier.
