ANGUAGE
MULATIONS
The PagePro 9100 N is designed as a versatile network
laser printer that supports common page description
languages, as well as languages needed for more special-
ized applications.
To identify the language used for a file, the printer uses
Crown III technology's ESP (Emulation Sensing
Processor). This auto-sensing feature enables the printer to
switch between language emulations and support a
variety of software applications.

The PostScript language that first gained popularity
almost two decades ago in the graphic arts market has
now become a primary language in all markets. The
PagePro 9100 N uses a resident PostScript 3 emulation
that supports 600 and 1200 dpi and includes 137 resident
fonts.
MINOLTA-QMS' PCL 6 emulation, which supports both
600 and 1200 dpi, imitates the HP LaserJet
with the PCL 6 emulation are 89 fonts (80 scaleable and 9
bitmap).
The Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) has fast arisen
as one of the most popular document formats, primarily
used for electronic document distribution. The PagePro 9100 N
offers its own PDF emulation, supporting version 1.3 files.
This printer-resident emulation allows users to directly print
this file type without first opening it in a reader application.
