Appendix III: Installing SATA RAID0
This mainboard includes an SATA controller that provides two Serial ATA connectors that support
150 MB/sec data transfer rates and SATA RAID 0. RAID 0 defines a specialized disk mana
cal d "striping" which enhances the performance of your hard disks. The SATA devices only
le

pport Windows
XP right now.
The prerequisite is that your hard disks are both SATA hard disks.

he following sections describe how to install RAID 0 over two SATA HDDs (two HDDs are
re
quired). It is assumed that there is no operating system yet installed on the drives and both drives
ar
e not yet physically connected. The first section involves installing Windows
S
ATA hard drives. The second section describes installing RAID 0 for the two drives.
In
stalling Windows

.Physically connect the first SATA HDD to the SATA1 connector on the mainboard.

. Make sure that the following setting is set to "RAID" in the BIOS Setup Utility : Integrated
Peripherals

. Copy the "Intel IAA-RAID Driver..." from the bundled CD-ROM to a floppy disk. 【path:

. Boot from the Windows
floppy disk.

. Proceed to install Windows
