4.2 Camera Video and Power Cable Installation
This procedure describes how to install the coaxial and power cables between the camera mounting
location and the traffic control cabinet. If you are installing multiple cameras, perform the procedure for
each camera.
The procedure is divided into the following parts:
1. Running the cables
2. Preparing the coaxial cable connectors
3. Preparing the power cable connectors
4. Preparing the coaxial cable at the cabinet
Running the Cables
1. Run one continuous pull (without splices) of coaxial cable and power cable between the camera
mounting location and the traffic control cabinet. The cables need to meet the following specifications:

Belden 8281 coaxial cable
•
Three‐conductor, 16 AWG power cable
